Baltic Cruise Day 9... Rostock (Berlin)

2022-06-27 Rostock is a fairly small German town, full of old world charm, beautiful beaches, and quaint little shops. It would have been even more beautiful had the temperature not been in the high 90s, and had a severe thunderstorm not come through later in the evening complete with lightning! But everyone had a wonderful time. We docked at 8:00 a.m., and those that went into Berlin had quite an all day adventure. 3 hours in and 3 hours back from Berlin made for quite a long day! I tried my best to get an excursion that didn't cost me an arm and a leg, into Berlin. The ones that went were absolutely drained when they returned from the heat and the hours. Back on board at 11:00 p.m. The ship was totally quiet tonight, and dinner at 6:00 p.m. was practically non-existent. There were probably 20 people maybe 30 in the dining room at 6:00 p.m. .

I'm sorry if I'm not my usual cheerful self, telling everything that happened. My youngest grandson Cole graduated from college today when I wasn't there. I had this trip planned 2 and 1/2 years ago, and he just joined lineman school last August, but I'm still heartsick to miss something that one of my grandchildren did. I just don't do that! Cole, I love you!! Payton also had her final performance at cheer camp at USM, and I missed that too! When I get back home I promise to be a better grandmother!

Please keep Kay's husband in your prayers. He is in Singing River, on the Gulf Coast, with his heart, and she is understandably worried that she is not there and what's going on with him. She is fortunate that she has responsible children handling it in her absence, and she's getting updated reports frequently. She is so thankful for Shelley right now I know! We are coming home Friday, and that's probably pretty close to when she would have gotten home if she tried to come home early, with making plans to get off the ship, making plans for a flight, etc, when we debark in a little over 72 hours anyway. He's very worried that he's upset her and messed up her plans and of course that's nonsense! So thank you for the wonderful community of friends and family that are around him.

Tomorrow is Kiel!
